To encourage and support personalized professional learning, we have developed the WISD Professional Learning Badge system. After completing a quick survey to show knowledge and skills, educators in our district can request a physical or digital badge. These badges can hang outside their classrooms, be added to email signature lines or websites, and be used to show progress in meeting teacher-developed goals for the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support (T-TESS) System. Educators have earned over 400 badges in the first year. This badge system has gone through many iterations and continues to be a work in progress, changing to meet the needs of our district.
